In today’s world, it can be easy to feel like there’s nothing you can do to make your community better. While most of us aren’t going to change things at a global or even national level, there is something you can do to make a difference, and that’s volunteering in your community!
Volunteering Supports Your Community
You can make a difference right here at home. When you volunteer, you give back to your community – your neighbors, friends, and family.
The 9Health Fairs don’t run on their own. Your peers in the community put them on, and it truly takes as many people as possible for them to run smoothly.
We need both medical professionals and non-medical professionals to run the fairs. For example, medical professionals can perform various exams or blood draws. Non-medical volunteers can do things such as checking people in, setting up the fair, helping with promotion and planning, and much more.
What Volunteering Does For You
Volunteering gives you a connection with other people and an avenue for meeting new people, which is especially helpful if you’re new to the area. It also gives you purpose. Studies also show that it’s good for your mental health.
